Revolutionizing surgical care with robotic-assisted surgeries

We’re thrilled to announce that Dr. Paul Batty has completed over 1,000 robotic-assisted surgeries using the da Vinci® Surgical System at UW Health SwedishAmerican!

In addition, Drs. Tarek Harb, Jason Klovning, Krystle Lange and Gregory McGovern have each performed over 500 da Vinci surgeries.

This incredible milestone showcases our commitment to cutting-edge technology and delivering remarkable care to our patients. To learn more about our amazing providers, view their profiles at https://www.uwhealth.org/providers.

The da Vinci is a sophisticated robotic surgical platform designed to assist surgeons in performing minimally invasive procedures with enhanced precision and control. The da Vinci system delivers 3D high-definition views, giving our surgeons a crystal-clear view of the surgical area magnified 10 times more than what the human eye sees. Surgeons use tiny instruments, controlled from a console, that mimic a human hand’s movements but with a far greater range of motion, complete with built-in tremor-filtration technology. Robotic-assisted surgeries offer several benefits to patients, including minimally invasive surgery in various specialties such as urology, gynecology, general surgery, and more, reduced scarring, shorter hospital stays, decreased risk of infection and potential for faster recovery.

Thank you to our dedicated surgeons, nurses and staff for their expertise and hard work! Here’s to many more milestones and countless lives impacted positively.
